Nolan Berthelette was 14 when a brain aneurysm took his life. His compassion, curiosity, and belief in helping others continue to inspire the foundation created in his name.

Shortly before his passing, Nolan wrote a school essay about the qualities of a true hero. His words remind us that courage and compassion can be found in everyday people—and that every one of us can make a difference.
